Practical Can Be Pretty

<span class=

i'm a firm believer in making everyday things fun...an experience. form over function all the way. you know all that little stuff that you need everyday, but it just clutters up the counter? i've got mine all corraled in a pretty silver tray i picked up at a garage sale one time. on it lives a cow who is home to soft butter and mr. elephant who is a sugar bowl.

coffee stirsticks go in a cute little urn.

<span class=

i'm trying truvia. it's not bad! it's part of a failing effort to not be so sugar addicted. sprite....sprite....sprite....must resist....

<span class=

all of my cooking utensils live in this silver urn. i get super annoyed if they're tucked in a drawer somewhere. need to work on patience.

<span class=

if you have to drink juice from concentrate (seriously cheaper), it might as well be in a pretty pitcher. (i know there's nothing in my fridge. there's never anything in my fridge because i grocery shop weekly and we don't snack much or eat condiments)

<span class=

you know how dish detergent can leave a drippy mess everywhere? i threw mine on a little silver tray that i almost never used. i used to keep dish soap in a pretty little bottle with a pour spout, but i found it hard to get out - annoying. once again, the patience thing...

<span class=

and, lastly, a pretty drying rack. if i didn't have this baby, i'd probably hide the big plastic thing under the sink which require work, and (say it with me) annoy me. do we see a pattern here? apparently i'm just super lazy with low tolerance, and, since you probably aren't, you have no need for any of this!

Meaghan - thanks for all these great ideas. We just finished remodeling our kitchen & after looking at my empty countertops for a couple of days, I really don't want to clutter it up again. I especially love the urn for utensils & the silver trays.
