Ruunnninnng

after lots of hard work and training, jon completed his first half marathon.
i love the boys celebrating with their daddy, and knowing that we are exercising and working hard even at our ages .

today is jon's birthday which makes it all the sweeter.

the boys freaked out when they saw jon run by.
we went to two different spots on the course to cheer him on.

my good friend gwyn tackled the beast too.
not "I" said the fly...

jon sporting his boston hat in memory of their race day tragedy less than a week ago.

a little racing swag.

in case you're interested...that's the course they ran.

QUIP O'THE DAY
i had a hermit crab in junior high that lived in a pink cage in my bedroom.  his name was "hermie" and he totally creeped me out.

Tour de Fat 2011

this morning we packed up the crew and joined in the tour de fat.
you may remember that we watched it a couple of years ago.
basically people dress up as crazy as possible, without rhyme or reason, usually questionably, and ride their bicycles en masse.

Photobucket

the boys threw things on from the dress up bucket, and we tied stuffies on to the bike trailer with ribbon.
creative, i know.

Photobucket

jon and i wore the boys super hero capes.

Photobucket

there was estimated to be 15,000 at this ride.
can you tell how far down the crowd goes?!
don't forget all those people are on bikes.

Photobucket

some of the more, how do i put it, "colorful" characters.

Photobucket

"fat tires" hahahahahaha
(the ride is sponsored by the new belgium brewery)

Photobucket

the little fellows basically just zoned out and enjoyed the ride.

Photobucket

one of our interns, karen, went with us.
she pulled jack around.

Photobucket

how they slept through it i don't know.
there were a bunch of crazies with blaring boom boxes on their bikes or trailers.

Photobucket

somehow in the crowd we ran into two families we know.
i should point out that jack is "pluto"
pluto has ears, two different shoes and wears all orange.
he's so cute.

Photobucket

Photobucket

on the way home, we stopped at a favorite coffee shops' bike thru window for coffee and a treat.

Photobucket

rowan loved his outfit.
picked it himself.

Photobucket

gettin' the goods.

Photobucket

the boys are food vultures.
seriously, you'd think they'd never tasted cinnamon roll before.
it was desperation.
bite, bite, bite, bite, bite, bite...
beggars.

Photobucket

Photobucket

animal menagerie in the trailer.

Photobucket

daddy animal in the road.

Photobucket

and jack's rad moves.

Special Delivery

we finally bit the bullet.

Photobucket

we started getting our milk delivered from the local dairy like the rest of fort collins.
it comes tuesdays and fridays right to the door.
they leave it in the cooler.

Photobucket

it comes in these glass bottles.
jon says it's the best milk he's ever tasted.
he says it's amazing.
he was very resistant to us signing up.

Photobucket

we get a quart of chocolate on fridays as a weekend treat.

Photobucket

righteous!

Photobucket

i may have let the boys have chocolate milk on their reese's puffs....

Story Time

Photobucket

a couple of days ago we headed out for a story time.

Photobucket

it's a flower garden of annuals on CSU's campus.

Photobucket

spread out some quilts and kick off our shoes...it's story time!

Photobucket

so relaxing in the crisp fall air.

Photobucket

reading quickly gave way to running.

Photobucket

i could do this every day.

A Hikin' We Will Go

Photobucket

today the boys and i went on an adventure.

Photobucket

not long into the hike, we ditched the scooters and hoofed it.

Photobucket

pause for a snack.

Photobucket

sad self portrait. rowan was in the baby bjorn and bundled in a blankie cause it was chilly!

Photobucket

the poudre river was so beautiful and swift.

Photobucket

where are we?

Photobucket

gotta play in puddles.

Photobucket

it was way too cold to eat our picnic outside, so we ended our 1.2 mile adventure in the car.

Breakfast Joints

Breakfast is our favorite meal out. i'd sacrifice dinner out any day for someone else to make my coffee.

Photobucket
