Tour de Fat 2011

this morning we packed up the crew and joined in the tour de fat.
you may remember that we watched it a couple of years ago.
basically people dress up as crazy as possible, without rhyme or reason, usually questionably, and ride their bicycles en masse.

Photobucket

the boys threw things on from the dress up bucket, and we tied stuffies on to the bike trailer with ribbon.
creative, i know.

Photobucket

jon and i wore the boys super hero capes.

Photobucket

there was estimated to be 15,000 at this ride.
can you tell how far down the crowd goes?!
don't forget all those people are on bikes.

Photobucket

some of the more, how do i put it, "colorful" characters.

Photobucket

"fat tires" hahahahahaha
(the ride is sponsored by the new belgium brewery)

Photobucket

the little fellows basically just zoned out and enjoyed the ride.

Photobucket

one of our interns, karen, went with us.
she pulled jack around.

Photobucket

how they slept through it i don't know.
there were a bunch of crazies with blaring boom boxes on their bikes or trailers.

Photobucket

somehow in the crowd we ran into two families we know.
i should point out that jack is "pluto"
pluto has ears, two different shoes and wears all orange.
he's so cute.

on the way home, we stopped at a favorite coffee shops' bike thru window for coffee and a treat.

Photobucket

rowan loved his outfit.
picked it himself.

Photobucket

gettin' the goods.

Photobucket

the boys are food vultures.
seriously, you'd think they'd never tasted cinnamon roll before.
it was desperation.
bite, bite, bite, bite, bite, bite...
beggars.
