it was spur of the moment. a crazy plan perhaps brought about by a breakfast at the donut shop. the mission was simple: drive until we find snow and go sledding. we flew into the driveway, threw everything we could possibly think of into the car, and headed out.

2 hours later...still no snow.

everyone got good naps in, and jon and i enjoyed good conversation, so all was not lost. we'd set off for rocky mountain national park in estes park. another hour away.

as we drove in to the "snow play area" we realized something. it looked as if it were a blizzard outside. plenty of families were crazy enough to brave it so we figured we were too.

a mere four runs later and we were back in the car with more peanut butter sandwiches. it was a total blast.
