after so much time apart we needed to just be a family together. jon suggested camping, which i rarely turn down, but i said, and i quote, "that sounds like everyone having a lot of fun and me doing a lot of work. can we please stay in a hotel?"
he said yes ;)
because we were not camping, but stayed in a hotel which is, as you know, a smidge more expensive, we packed peanut butter, fluff, bread, and oodles of snacks. we had fluffernutter sandwiches for 2 dinners and 3 lunches i believe, but breakfast at the hotel was slammin'.

we found an embassy suite, our favorite as a family - free breakfast, two rooms (so jon and i don't have to hide in the bathroom to talk while the kids are going to sleep), and a pool. okay and if you're going to stay there try to find the "gas promo".

riding the glass elevator.

we mostly just hung out at the hotel, but did venture down to the 16th street mall to ride the free bus.

and ride the free bull.

for the first time we have a zoo membership so we took dinner one evening over there.
rowan's on his tippee toes. why is that so cute?

no, my clothes don't match thank you for noticing. and yes, i did wear that in public. the boys look kinda put together though. i SWORE i'd NEVER be THAT mom, well, here i am.

finn is really quite lazy and requested that someone carry him at all times.
i know he's still only 3, but....
...he's ginormous. which translates into heavy.

dippin' dots for the first time.
they're really quite creamy.

and the first time we've ridden the train here. we basically didn't even look at any animals. we just bee-lined it for the train and then dippin' dots.

helllllooooooo!!!!

the last stop was the mall in broomfield where this enormous outdoor sandbox exists.
it's amazing the free stuff you can find when you're looking.
