Vail Camping

our last getaway for the summer was a trip up to piney lake in vail.
i actually love camping.
you have to be completely comfortable being filthy dirty for days on end.
i'm ok with that.

jack has become a huge help in setting up.

we have to be the only parents on the planet to leave to camp for 3 days and don't bring one child a single pair of shoes.
fortunately, we discovered this at a potty break in an outlet town.
gap had $3 flip flops.
the boys hiked in them, played in them....spent 3 days in nothing but flip flops.

our camping spot.
if you (or your car) could survive the drive the sites were spectacular.
and free.
there was a river running right back in there.
completely fenced in surrounded by aspen groves and wildflower meadows.
ummm, ok!

finn fell onto the grill and burned his hand.
jack felt so bad for him.
in a beautiful rare moment, he washed his feet to make him feel better.
and flip flops at a camp site make for some seriously dirty feet.
