a bit updated, a smidge more modern.
still a long way to go, in my opinion, but feels closer to "me" :)
all paint colors are sherwin williams and the lower cabinets here are "black fox" if any one's interested.

what a difference with all those cabinets down!
we've painted all the door and window trim in ben moore "decorator's white" ( i lied, not all SW).
we moved the chandelier in here from the dining room.
i have big plans to spray it, but can't commit to a color!
thinking maybe hot pink....we'll see.
those upper cabinets are SW perfect griege, and the bar stools are temporary borrows from AIA until i can spring for four of these.

the dining table is sprayed with a gray from home depot, sable i think.
i'm still not happy with it (of course). i'll let ya know what happens to it :)
everything still feels really "blank" in here.

mrs. meyers dish soap.
a smidge more pricey, yes, but doesn't it smell lovely?
a worthy splurge if used sparingly :)
it lasts forever.

i still don't have a clue about a replacement light fixture for the kitchen.
the walls in here are SW antique white.
so pretty and light with the bright white of the trim.

the fireplace needs this clock right?
cha-ching though!
i'd die if it broke, so possibly a bad idea.
what with the children and all.
it'd take up almost the entire fireplace front (it's almost 4 feet across) so i could ignore those holes for now.
my birthday's right around the corner, we'll see...

the paint is the same as the trim only in flat instead of semi-gloss.
the fireplace stuff is sick clearance from pier 1.
screen was $130 for $29.
hello!
tools (broken) $79 for $12.
log holder $79 for $19.

i told ya...sick.

there's a matching screen (and a baby) on the other side.

basket is from hobby lobby.
wine is from a friend who reps wine and gives me wine for free.
serious hook up, i know.

snacks for lunches at the ready.

the kids table has no home, and gets no use.
the boys broke a chair, and the paint matches the dining table that will probably change.
i'm not sure of it's fate.
and no, the armoire is not finished.

chair: $5.99 @ goodwill once upon a time.

my "amoeba" photo wall.
my favorite in the house.
ready to grow and change.

you may remember a glass front china cabinet we used to have.
finn thought that it would make a good hiding place and crawled inside and laid on a GLASS shelf.
as one might expect, the glass shelf broke under his 3 year old girth.
we traded that broken and busted cabinet for this boy proof version.
it will, of course, not look like this for long.
i will change it.
i have a disease.

i adore this rug.
it's painted cowhide.
so cool it's painful

my sassy nana gave this porcelain cat to me for my 11th birthday.
it freaks people out.
i love it.
i've stripped the white paint off this chair, and it looks awesome.

this cuckoo clock was an anniversary gift from my parents early on.
growing up we had clocks from all the places we'd lived around the world.
cuckoo clock and grandfathers clock from germany, anniversary clock from italy...
they'd all chime at the same time, every hour around the house.
it sounds so special and homey.
curtains are old anthropology sale.

happy little fellow.
sneaking my wine!
