Childhood Memoirs: Classroom Treats

can i just say that i have been looooving pinterest? i know i'm not the only one. it's awesome quite frankly. somebody had a brainchild for sure. thanks to pinterest, i got the crazy notion that i could make for myself some adorable little goodies for jack to pass out to his teachers and classmates. i seriously don't think i would have made a thing to send him with, but that's why pinterest is so fun. it allows you to think outside the box and find nifty little ideas to try for yourself. i feel so....so....inspired. oooooooh.

for jack's classroom pals (all 30 of them) i figured i could easily whip up a few of these:

looks simple right? totally doable. ALL that the website i pinned the idea from provided was this pic. none-the-less, i thought to myself, "self, you can make those easily."

i bought this particular candy coating @ super target (heaven) because:

it came in it's own self-contained microwaving tray.

i actually had to go a few different places to find the shorter popsicle sticks because they were sold out everywhere. i finally found them at walmart. i guess everyone thinks they're a crafter at christmastime.

after i killed about a half dozen oreos i had the brilliant idea to use DOUBLE STUFFED oreos. one quick call to jon later, they were on their way.

no. i didn't throw it in the trash :)

well look at that. adorable little oreo pops just like in the "inspiration" picture for jack's classmates.

yeah, they're stinkin' cute. and quite tasty i might add. after skewering the double stuffed oreo with the popsicle stick, i spooned the chocolate on top and swirled it around until the excess all fell off. then i layed them flat on wax paper and sprinkled the tops while they were still wet. the bags and ribbon are from michael's. does it go without saying that you wait until they're dry to bag them?

i interrupt this post for some serious bedhead.

now on to the next. those teachers need gifts:

wax paper and masking tape. this coupled with mini chocolate chip cookies (the chips are mini, not the cookies), ribbon and a cute printable = simple, but fun, teacher's gift.

i like wrapping in wax paper because they feel bakery like.

i should have made this cute little printable a bit smaller, but i only had 15 minutes left til i had to be at the christmas party so i just rolled with it.
