Around and About

i've noticed that we don't do a whole lot of fun stuff around here in the winter.  i just can't muster up the energy when it's so cold.  i'm counting down the days to warm weather.  until then, i'm warming up with tea.  you may want some too if you stick around for this whole post. 





i currently have a bit of an instagram obsession.  maybe a mild understatement.  i'm constantly on the lookout for uses for them.  i recently ordered these magnets from stickygram during a late night computer surfing session.  they come in sheets on 9.  the best thing is that all the instagram products are always pretty reasonably priced.

i also really like postal pix.  it's an app that lets you order prints straight from your phone to your front door.  i also really need to take my nail polish off.

in my avoidance of housework, i decided to take our christmas cards down.  i'm thinking there's a genius idea for them somewhere on pinterest...

the milk just came.  i could have left it out on the porch cause it's so COLD!



is it normal that we have to buy this much grapefruit a week?  my kids go nuts for it.  maybe it's because i sprinkle it with sugar :) sure beats me having to cut one up for them and pick out all the little segments.  i've done it though. plenty.  each....little....segment....



ok, here's the family room.  it's just a mish mash of clutter for now.  which is really what it's been since june.  i just don't seem to care a lot.  maybe it's all the little people running around :)  i recently sent jon on a hunt around denver to pick up this little loveseat i bought off of craigslist.  he had to carry it down from a second story apartment.  thanks babe!  the boys love it.  it's super soft and cozy.  just needs a swath of new fabric.

i finally finished painting the armoire i use as a pantry and extra storage.  it seriously took no time at all.  i had just been procrastinating.



all my appliances ready and waiting.



always plugged in.  i love it.



so i started repainting the hallway on a whim.  i liked the pink, but i don't know.  this just flows better, and it looks so light and airy.  it's the same color as the family room.  SW antique white.



i'm wearing my painting clothes right now to finish it up, but i don't seem to actually be painting.



speaking of painting, i painted the back doors the same color as the lower kitchen cabinets.  SW black fox.  love it.



and lastly, i scored this little chandelier from home depot.  i really liked the "smoke" color, but this one was on sale.  so green it is.  for the price, it's really nice.  real glass.  i was afraid it might be plastic.

ok, now back to reality.  jon and finn are driving to missouri tomorrow for another grandmothers funeral.  jon's last two grandparents are gone just weeks apart.  lots to do.  if you're still here, thanks for hanging through the whole post!
