Feels Like Summer

summer is in full swing.  the kids are staying up later.  the days are hotter.  the air conditioner is broken... you know, the usual.

we've been blending up large fresh batches of salsa with the cilantro from the garden.  i can't keep up with it! or the kids pounding the salsa.

lots of popsicles on the back porch.  you know when it even feels too hot for ice cream?

orange slices don't last long.

i never would feed my kids oranges because i hate to peel them.  then one day, we're at my friends house and she cuts them into slices and the kids devour them.  so obvious, and yet, apparently not...

finn loves the garden as much as i do.  he's in his bean teepee planting pots in the fairy garden.  it's surrounded by "his" flowers which he tends and talks to lovingly. "grow little flowers.  grow big and strong."

i love that the mornings are still cool.  bundling in a blanket with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning with the sprinklers running, ahhhhhhh.

and lastly, we've created a "beach" so to speak back on the concrete pad that is for who knows what.
