my one regret is how few pictures i took, and that most of them are extremely blurry. i took MAYBE 10-15 pictures. who am i? who have i become? not my finest photography moments.
we really loved eating family style last year. one loooooong table where you have to pass food and serve yourself and chat and laugh and eat and drink.
mint from the garden was cute and smelled wonderful.
i have no idea why i was making that face...probably because the competition was blowing me away.
in the garden area we had appetizers and beer tasting. we chose local breweries - pateros creek, cooper smith's, o'dells, fort collins brewery and equinox. i found a couple dozen 3-5 ounce glasses at goodwill one day while i was out perusing for us to sample from.
we plopped them all in the wheelbarrow with lots of ice.
very intense competition. we we played three teams of four and the winner of each round had a championship round. the grand winner was...
gwyn!
we then snuck out back for roast chicken with veggies, homemade breads and watermelon, feta and arugula salads under twinkly lights.
3rd annual soiree? definitely!
well, the fun doesn't stop there. the boys all watched the soirree croquet match from their bedroom windows where they were held hostage by a babysitter. it's all they could talk about, so the next night we had 2nd annual soiree take two - ehaus family style.
really i think they just wanted the leftover sodas... ;)
it WAS really fun as a family though.
we even ate all the leftover food at the tables under the lights.
except at this soiree there were little tennies on the table...
adults only...
