well that finn finally lost his little tooth. like i said before, he technically swallowed it right along with his chick-fil-a nuggets. so we got down to party planning. as some of you may remember, we don't throw birthday parties for our kids. we started a while back using the money that we would have spent on a party for random kids who bring cheap random presents (it's just the truth) to do a family birthday event. the boys remember everything we've done, and who's birthday we've done it for. just the five of us.
well, because we aren't throwing together three birthday parties a year, we decided to celebrate "milestones" instead with a big ole partay. starting with losing your first tooth. honestly, we haven't come up with a second milestone yet, but i'm sure something will be obvious here soon. jack's due.
finn's party theme was "rot your teeth right out of your head." i printed his picture out and glued the invite on the back and stuck it in the back packs of his little kindergarten class mates. they were promised a pinata full of candy, cake & ice cream and old fashioned sodas to "rot the rest of your teeth right out of your head."
every parents dream party to send their kid to.
finn asked me to make a triple layer cake. my cake making skills are certainly limited so please don't judge this wonky little cake! it's done, and that's better than perfect. and let's be real. i didn't spend too long whipping up those cake mixes.
all the decorations were a total score. i stumbled upon them all clearanced out at super target when i popped in to pick up some party plates.
even wonky cakes need to be admired.
finn asked for green, brown and white inside so that's what finn got.
then we beat down a pinata!
finn brought it home like a slugger.
it was simple and fun and crazy and wonderful.
QUIP O'THE DAY
i can't stand to look at their teeth when they fall out so it's a good thing finn's went right down his throat.
