this valentine's did not merely pass us by without notice. i'm not entirely sure how it all happened, but we had, in ways, an epic valentine's. we started by memorizing 1 corinthians 13:4-8 about love, and we've had plenty of opportunities this month already to put it into practice as the brothers three go through life.
i had seen these little minion valentine's on pinterest and thought they might be fun to make. the boys agreed so we set about it. did you know that the walmart brand twinkies taste AMAZING! they do.
we had to sample them in preparation for our work.
did you also know that it is REALLY HARD to let your kids make their own valentine's when you've seen an adorable picture of the end result on pinterest? it is. but they did. and they did a great job.
we baked ourselves a happy little heart cake.
and finn made a hot air balloon valentine holder we also found somewhere on pinterest land. it looks pretty impressive right?? i couldn't find the picture i originally saw again so we improvised with supplies from my craft closet. it's shocking what's in that waste land! i wish i could take more credit for this cute little thang, but really finn did it all (including blowing up the balloon. i just hot glued the paper straws to the basket.
jack and rowan also made themselves balloons and then they all flew them around the back yard and put chicken feed in them trying to lure in a passenger.
the hot air balloon making somehow turned into an epic crafting session.
and then we realized that finn actually needed 10 extra valentine's for "specials" teachers so we shipped these cute little things up.
i got each little guy their own balloon from dollar tree for v-day morning.
and i always set the "counter" fun to make the morning special. they also each got a $1 box of chocolates from target. it really doesn't take much does it :) so good to remember.
rowan and i then spent the day at school valentine parties and grabbed a papa murphy's heart shaped pizza for dinner and a charlie brown valentine's movie night.
lest the ENTIRE holiday now be about children, jon and i celebrated on the 15th cause that's when karen offered to keep the boys for us.
