i remember my mom making this for us when my brother and i were little. i have fond memories of eating it...

in a pot on the stove, mix:
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon of oil
1/2 cup of salt
1 cup of flour
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar

start to heat it on medium

3 minutes later it will look like this. get it off the stove.

divide dough into parts and knead in some food coloring. i use primary colors and we talk about how to make orange and green :)

keep it in the pantry in an airtight containter. seriously 10 minutes start to finish.

have fun!

we use kitchen gadgets and cookie cutters.

I've been planning on doing this with Natalie, just need to pic up cream of tartar. Can't wait! I was noticing the room in the background--did you move the bedroom?
We also make salt dough, which you bake and then get to paint! Looks like fun!
