Grain Be Gone

so, i've mentioned before that my camera is old.  and quite dirty.  so if there is not enough light i have to use a high ISO.  the result is a super grainy or not crisp image.  it's called noise.  there can be a film grain quality that's a bit gritty and cool.  i don't always want it though.

when nicole, photographer extraordinaire, was in town she showed me a super cool plug-in for photoshop that solves my problem in one click!  it's called noiseware at imagenomic.com and it's easy to install. there's a 20% off coupon code on retailmenot.com if you like it!

sidenote: do you use retailmenot.com?? before i make ANY online purchase i pop over and without fail there's some sort of coupon code.  awesome.

so here's a before pic sooc (straight out of camera) from our balloon shoot last fall.

finn is cute as ever but the picture is a bit dark and totally grainy.  after one click of the plug-in we have this:

so much better!  look how smooth his skin is.  ahhhhh.  i may have lightened it but that's it.

i also really dig actions for spicing things up a bit.  they really can make pictures look so fun and one click ain't too bad either.  i've found some at paint the moon that i think are super pretty and not too expensive.

this action is called watermelon blues.  how cute is finn now??  go photoshop!
