this year, however, we've found a gem of a pool with some seriously great lessons. after just three days, today jack jumped off the edge, floated on his belly and swam the crawl to his instructor. say what?!

there's nothing better than an 85 degree salt water pool when your class is at 830 and it's a chilly colorado morning. i remember it being freezing first thing in the morning when i went as a kid. miserable.
we always had goldfish crackers at swim lessons in a soggy foil-lined bag.
we've been bringing bags of pirate booty. that stuff is seriously addicting, and have you ever heard an eighteen month old ask for, "booty! booty!" awesome.

prelesson bedhead.

the teachers are so sweet and patient.

finn literally never stops smiling. even if he doesn't want to do what he's supposed to. or if he's nervous to try. smiling, smiling, smiling. so cute.

jack's been a machine, and he used to be the worst. he whacked at me all class every class the first time we ever went when he was 2. the whole way to the pool he would protest.

i'm so glad these lessons are going so well.
the kids being comfortable in the water and knowing legit strokes is really important to me, and it's way easier to learn as a kid than adult. amen?
