my littlest turkey is snuggled up next to me in bed this lovely saturday morning. it's been a long needed lazy day with daddy home and all three boys. i feel like these kind of mornings are becoming rare already. life sure does get busy in a hurry doesn't it?

a couple of days ago finn and i made some homemade marshmallows. i've always wanted to try since i saw them on darby's blog a looooong while back. i just assumed, despite what she said, that they'd be super messy and complicated. not the case! they were so super easy that we'll be making them from now on. aaaaaand, they're amazingly delicious. the recipe link is on my pinterest. sneaky. i know.

good things sure do come to those who wait.

pillowy goodness pour on out.

i did have to get some ingredients that i don't normally have, but nothing expensive or complicated (corn syrup and gelatin).

i was thinking, "dude, i just made marshmallows"

when people want goodies, people make a way. i already moved the pan once.

oh, he was just playing playmobil in them. well, that's much better and totally fine;)

moved again.

well, if i went all out and made marshmallows from scratch, might as well make hot chocolate from scratch! that recipe is also on my pinterest (bwahahahha). 4 ingredients = ridiculously good stove top hot chocolate. seriously easy, seriously yummy, totally worth it.

let's serve it up!

one serious marshmallow. i guess they wouldn't have to be this big...

our boys drink cocoa with a straw.

until they need to reach all the yummy goodness at the bottom.

our hot chocolate qualified as our advent "desert" for the night and accompanied our new ritual of opening christmas cards after dinner and praying for the senders. have you sent us a christmas card? you've been prayed for :)
