in preparation for my sleepless saturday, i took advantage of a bit of room time on friday to score a nap. did i just say that? i took a nap? i can't remember the last time i said that. this is the last thing i saw before my hour long, six time interupted, nap. it was so pretty and felt so snuggly and my camera was right there... i just had to document that i took a nap.

jack and i had a date friday night to see "you're a good man charlie brown" put on by his school's high school. hide your daughter's friends. he's a good date. he would open my car door, and then hop in the back to climb into his booster. adorable.

jack spent some time chatting up the saxophonist before the show started.

and spent time reviewing the program and sipping my coffee. lately he's been trying to coax me into vanilla lattes at starbucks. purely selfishly motivated ;)

our eldest also treated us to a drum performance this morning.

no performance would be complete without an attentive audience in attendance.

i've found that if i slice up apples (honeycrisp of course) and pears and leave them out on the counter my little grazers and i will munch on them throughout the day instead of:

me sneaking these delightful leftovers from bunko monday. gee whiz they're good.

saturday evening we had family movie night. the only kettle corn our grocery had was in those pop up bowls. i thought they'd be fun, but they just fought over who got the bowl. ay carumba.

the boys donned christmasy jammies and huddled around the laptop to watch elf. i was laughing just in anticipation of them laughing at buddies burp. i love that movie.
"candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup."

do you ever find little treasures around your house like this? i do. constantly. cracks me up. how do they get there? one may never know.

off to church. why is rowan wearing orange pants with that sweater? and those socks? and those shoes? hmmmm i suppose when you have a face like that you can wear anything you want to :)

the weekend rounded up with a christmas card photo shoot of this cute little family with furry children. they're former students of ours jon married a little over a year ago. we all met up later at our annual ugly sweater white elephant party! we were looking good for sure.
