Memoirs of Childhood

N'awlins

jon and i shot down to new orleans this past weekend for my cousins wedding (no pics of that yet).  have you ever been to new orleans?  jon and i had just driven through once before...stayed the night, walked down bourbon street, ate at cafe du monde.  so really, this was our first time "there."

it was fun, but really because we were celebrating vicoria and edward's wedding and seeing a bunch of family.  lots of late nights.

we stayed at this cute boutique loft hotel - loft 523.  the rooms had these huge copper doors that took the strength of a large man (jon ;) to open them, and the rooms were stark and cool with concrete floors and exposed brick.  i mean, they had aveda products in the bathroom and stocked community coffee...enough said.

i was trying to show you the huge mirror, but thought you'd want to see that my shirt has a tail that i didn't know was there when i bought it.

i forget how much i love french architecture.

we had the privilege of meeting kenny, the owner of "the idea factory."  it's a shop on royal in the french quarter that my friend nancy's dad used to own.  kenny was completely charming and a total delight.  we bought a wooden train to bring home to the boys with letters from their names as the train cars.  they thought it was the most special thing ever :)  it kinda is.

after beignets on the last day we all watched a parade and managed to score some beads without any threat to our reputations.
