Rowan Turned 3

we flew in from new orleans saturday evening.  sunday morning started with a bang celebrating rowan turning 3.  he's such a little doll.  he woke up, and we all said happy birthday to him, and he replied with a sweet little "thank you" to each person as they said it.

in the living room, he was greeted by a little teepee from my parents and jon and i.

the boys each got him 2 orange hot wheels (4 different cars total), because an orange hot wheels is all he has been talking about.  orange is his very favorite color.

by the third orange hot wheels he let out an exasperated "uuugggghhh" at the amount of work he was putting in to unwrapping what seemed to be the same thing over and over (all the while decked out in mardi gras beads).





we quickly ate cinnamon rolls, rowan's with a candle in it of course, and threw on clothes to drive the 2 hours to colorado springs to take the christmas cog railway.  this has been our first year of doing a family event in lieu of a birthday party for the kids.   we've already made such great memories!  the santa train did not disappoint.  the boys kept saying how it was so great, and it was.

there are way too many pictures.  we really did just have so much fun though!  all the workers were dressed as elves and had entire characters built.  we sang carols up and back, had cocoa and cookies and put in our requests to mr. and mrs. claus.























































after dinner, we celebrated rowan with cake, ice cream and singing.  we had a little cake for our little family, and capped off the end of a truly great day.  we sure do love our row baby!
