Memoirs of Childhood

Shoes. Oh, and Cereal.

for starters, i think it's noteworthy that we bought twelve boxes of cereal this week in order to get the codes off of them.  it was on sale, and there's the opportunity to get monster's university pillowcases out of the deal.  we've never done anything like that before.  the "mom" in me wants to make them wait and save up codes week by long week, but the kid in me just went and bought too much cereal with them all at once as a big surprise then rushed home to put the codes in and order ridiculous pillow cases that should arrive in 8-12 weeks.  that's 2-3 MONTHS.  perhaps that was unreasonable...

i found these cute little shoes strewn on the floor the other day.
i love them lazily kicked off and lying on the cowhide rug.
i can picture jack holding on to the back of the chair, still chatting with finn, and popping them off and quickly running to his room to play with his brother.
legos of course.

they're not supposed to come in the house with shoes on.  each boy has a "shoe bucket" in the garage where they normally toss their shoes when they hop out of the car.  sometimes, there are much too important things to get to to bother leaving shoes in the garage.

like legos with your little brother.

QUIP O'THE DAY
my weakness this summer has been mcdonald's vanilla iced coffees.  unfortunately they're $2 each so it's a rare, though much anticipated, treat.
