Chickens

today we inherited 3 Delaware hens.  a friend of a friend is moving to a subdivision that doesn't allow live poultry, and we became the beneficiaries! we acquired the hens, their coop, feeders, hay and all other accoutrements for free!  this has been a dream of mine for a couple of years, i've just never had the cash flow to make it all happen at once.  our God loves to give good gifts to His children!

the boys have been dying with excitement ever since i found out we were set to inherit the brood a few days ago.  every five minutes they'd ask when we were getting the chickens.  we were in the driveway waiting for the gals when jon pulled in with them.

we spent the rest of the afternoon torturing them with our love and getting their new home set up.  all followed closely behind by a hot bath (for the dirty, muddy, chicken covered boys).
