Bad Hair Day

finn woke up this icy morning with this hair do.




it's the result of a late evening bath, and being a tummy sleeper. you know the ones - with the booty up in the air! i'm at the point where i dread bathing the kids... if you can't understand why, click to find out! at first it was fun and cute, but now, ugh! water gets everywhere!

is there a lesson to be learned here? for jack or for me? naw... it's just fun, right? i do take millions of pictures of the poor boys, so why wouldn't he ask such a thing!? we love blogging. keeping up with family and friends who live hundreds of miles away. what's your main reason for blogging? do your kids know as much about blogging as you do?

What's Up?

well, in this picture it's jack! he discovered a way to get up on top of the armoire (that goes in his room typically), and i, in all my maternal wisdom, let him stay up there. jon has put a stop to it though, reminding me that jack is very clutzy (he's my boy) and he falls constantly. fun while it lasted.

in other news... look out sports world!

we have a ball addict on our hands! finn loves balls. jack couldn't care less. around 11 months, as soon as he could walk, finn picked up a little ball and took it straight to the hoop, and...

plopped it right in! he'll do it over and over and over...

Lazy Dayz

we spend loads of time in pajamas around these parts. most of my posts consist of the boys in pj's. usually matching... often at the table. you'll notice jack is in his chicks pj's and that's not a waffle on his plate. they're fish fingas (say it with your best charlie and lola accent). interpretation - that ain't breakfast! i'm a comfort junkie myself. my boys will probably remember their mom coming home and immediately kicking off her shoes and changing into pajama pants. cute pajama pants, but pajama pants none the less. am i the only one? is it wrong to want to just be cozy?

Around

today was in the 70's...sorry northerners

we took a trip around the pennington's like we often do.

we like to throw rocks and play in mud.

you should know that i had just bathed the boys (their hair was still wet) and dressed them for the day. oh well, we'll just start over later!

cows. fascinating! especially when they're a foot away!

here are the boys spitting over the side of the wagon. lovely. they have also been pretending to burp as of late!

we had the best time, and returned home sunkissed and full of vitamin D.

the mail had already been gotten,

but the gate still needed to be ridden!

In Tyler

we had so much fun in tyler! it is seriously one of my favorite places. we always stay with our BFF's jason and hallie. they are always so gracious to let us crash with them, especially since they don't have kids and ours are...wild. our boys love them so much! jack starts packing his bags to go days before we leave when he finds out we're going. hallie, hallie, hallie, hallie!

God was very gracious to us on this trip, and He allowed us to be very busy with support appointments. we never stopped the whole time we were there! can't wait to go back soon!

not exactly true...we're outta town, and though i've had my camera, i haven't taken a single picture!

it would be good for you to know that jack now exclusively calls me "honey bunny."

Athletes...in Action

many of you know that jon and i are joining a ministry called athletes in action. we're currently in the process of raising support, but here's a clip (scroll down some) of tim tebow (your husband will know who he is) doing with his talent what we hope to have the opportunity to train other student athletes to do - USE IT for God's glory. there are a bunch of other famous athletes sharing their faith on athlete's in action's newest website beyondtheultimate.org.

TV

well, we don't get a single TV channel, so "movie" or "video" should have been the title. finn saw "thomas the tank engine" for the first time today. he, as the second child, has seen almost NO tv (movies). when he's up, he and jack just play. i think he liked it though...

New Tent

so we got this new tent. we've researched family sized tents for quite some time, and when they went on clearance at target...we pounced! we knew it'd be big, but this thing is ginourmous! it even has two rooms inside! definitely our dream tent.

Nature's Tissue

we were outside, so what was i supposed to do?

i've taught jack about "nature's tissues" before.

they don't have lotion in them but they get the job done, and to a boy...soooo cool!

"One" Hat

i've been saving this hat of jack's for THREE years. it's been sitting out for finn's first birthday for two MONTHS! do you think that i remembered to put it on finn yesterday? 'course not! oh well, one day doesn't make a difference in finn world.

He's One!!!

it's just the four of us today, celebrating his first full year!

what a sweet little guy God has blessed us with.

finn is pleasant, loving, snuggly, smiley and sweet.

we all loved the cake, but finn most of all!

on jack's first birthday, he wouldn't eat the cake with his hands! he prefers to be clean.

we pray that he'll be a man after God's own heart, and a blessing to others.

we'll have an "official" birthday photo shoot, but it's icing outside right now! it was 86 degrees two days ago - texas is crazy!
